2026
A balance of familiar ground and a few new turnings, anchored, as ever, in Minsk, and it was midsummer July that burned brightest. 12 journeys in all, from Rental party 🚌 in January to Netherlands + Lithuania + 1 more 🚌 in July, 6 flights stitched the distances together, the furthest I got was Nurek, 3,583 km from home. Luxembourg was new ground for me, 40 cities I'd never seen before — Amsterdam and Dushanbe among them. I shared most of it with Darya. It began at Рождественская ярмарка / Калядны кiрмаш in January and ended at Bulevardul Grigore Vieru in Chișinău. One note I left behind: “like a local”

January ran on Saint Petersburg time. Day to day, it was shopping-mall rounds. Long hours in Сад «Нева» — plus a stop at Часы на Комсомольской · Minsk. Mid-month, a packed bag again: Rental party 🚌 — 18 days door to door. Most days had Darya in them; 356 photos survived the month.

Minsk held the month together. Станция метро «Грушевка» was practically a second address — 13 visits. There was time for walks past Часы на Комсомольской — four visits over the month, and for outdoor stretches at Бондаревский сквер. Late in the month, the Moscow city 🚌 trip pulled everything onto the road — six days door to door. Darya was there for most of it; the 28th alone stacked up 77 stops.
